Challenge

The NG Charlotte Project presented several operational challenges from the start. First, the underground detention system contained a massive amount of accumulated debris, which prevented the system from passing inspection. In addition, crews had to perform the work inside a confined underground environment. Solution

To address the challenge, the team ran 300 feet of hose from the Hydrovac directly into the underground system. As a result, they cleaned the structure chamber by chamber and aisle by aisle. In addition, they used job-specific tools and worked in coordinated shifts to maintain steady progress. Through this approach, the crew removed two to three loads of debris each day while maintaining both efficiency and strict safety standards.
